Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group

Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group is one of the local groups of the Gauge One Model Railway Association, a UK based international organisation with around 2500 members worldwide. The Gauge 1 Yorkshire Group is based, as its name suggests, in Yorkshire, but we do have active members in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.  We meet on a regular basis in the summer months for garden railway steam-ups in various parts of the region, including Sheffield, Wakefield, Gainsborough, Chesterfield, Rotherham and Whitby.  Our interest and expertise is varied, but we all are keen modellers and users of Gauge 1.

For several years, a number of the members of the Yorkshire Group have exhibited their engines and stock at engineering exhibitions in Harrogate and Pickering and at the ALSRM Shows in Pontefract and York. Some of these have included live steam running.  Gauge 1 North 2010 was our first public exhibition, and has received compliments from across the country.  We now intend to repeat the formula in 2011.
